For the past two semester I have been volunteering at an off campus homeless shelter. Every Saturday myself and 3-4 other volunteers spend the morning working with the clients. Typically we are there to work on resumes, job searches and bring in positive energy.
Today we decided to plant a garden! This is just the beginning of a project to bring in a catering company to use the vegetables we are going to grow as well as have a healthy diet for the shelter.
( I was clearly working hard)
I was a great way to spend a Saturday morning!
I enjoyed some lovely eats:
Fresh fruits and a Tomato and Mozzarella Panini
Vegetable Biryani
I ended the day with a 5 mile bike ride and 2.5 hours of roller skating!
QUESTION: What projects do you work on in your local community?
What a great cause Sana! Great way to spend your weekend.
Maya and I have volunteered at a local church packing up supplies for the homeless. In addition, I love raising money for Developments in Literacy. It isn’t a local cause but a great cause nonetheless!
What a wonderful way to spend your time Sana. Good for you!
girl i will always read your blog! I LOVE YOUR HEALTH OUTLOOK! its awesome!
i am so impressed by you-you are an amazing woman!
How cool that you started a garden, that is very inspiring!! I work with kiddos at my church, and it’s very rewarding too. π
i love that photo of you “working hard” π xoxox
Damn I feel bad that I don’t really volunteer, except for donating clothes to the church and chaperoning my niece’s school trips…I need to get more involved…
Great Job Honey!
What a great idea! I would love to start a garden someday. I recently volunteered for the tour de cure bike ride and the food bank in the past π
